<p>Last time I went to visit my Mom on Cortes island she was excited to show me the islands &#8220;<a href="http://www.cortesrecycles.ca/freestore">free store</a>&#8220;. I had no idea that it would be so big and full of interesting things. I wasn&#8217;t in the mood to shop, but as I&#8217;m preparing to head back over this Friday, I find myself pulling out all the old books and clothes I don&#8217;t use or wear anymore to bring and trade for any old medical books they may have. What a great idea. I really love it. Maybe one day I&#8217;ll create a free store in Vancouver. I think BC may be turning this Ontarion into a tree hugger after all!</p>
<p>Where is Cortes? I still don&#8217;t know, it&#8217;s  seven hours of driving and three ferry rides up the coast!</p>

<p>We believe that a well guided practice should be available to <strong>everybody. </strong>Practicing in a by donation class means that it is important that you pay what you can so you can afford to practice, and pay what you can so we can afford to teach often. A donation is the act of giving, and the suggested donation for the class is $16. Suggested donation means that if you can afford to put $16 in the donation box, please do so. If you are not in a position to do so, please contribute what you can. Nobody will be keeping track of individual donations. The $16 donation is not meant to be a bottom or top limit. if you are in a position to donate more, please do so.</p>
<p>Personal hygiene is an integral part of yoga. Adjustments and touch are available in our smaller classes, please maintain personal cleanliness and wipe down  your mat after each use. Class is first come first serve, online reservations are available.</p>

<p>We rent mats for $1, and they are also available for purchase.</p>

<p>Learn and play as you gain knowledge of the central chakra system. Balance your asana practice, gain insight into the body energy system, on and off the mat. The body is interpreted as home to each person’s spirit. Caring for and healing ones body therefore allows for each individual’s energy to flow more dynamically, and ultimately leads towards spiritual connection and fulfillment in ones life.</p>

<p>Alexis has an extensive background in yoga. Alexis is a graduate of the Prana Yoga College of Vancouver and holds a Yoga Alliance certification in Classical Hatha. Alexis has been a student of the Kundalini Tradition with Jocelyn Moorhouse, has participated in the Canadian National Voice Intensive, has been a student in Hatha / Vinyasa classes and participates in physical theatre.</p>
<p>She participated in Camp Moomba Yogathon &amp; Fundraiser, is a voice teacher at Methodica Acting Studio in Gastown, has taken courses with seane Corne, Maria Gare, Yasmin Gow, and Natasha Rizopoulos and is a teacher of regular Hatha, Kundalini, Restorative, Vinyasa and Yin.</p>
<p>On her spare time you will find Alexis, bicycling, dancing (ballet, modern &amp; tap), hiking, knitting, exploring other languages (French &amp; Spanish), doing photography, playing the flute, reading, riding horses, running, singing, swimming, preforming in theater, tumbling, playing volley-ball,and of course, meditating and practicing yoga.</p>

<h6><strong>Kettlebell  Classes are now being held in Kits at Kits Yoga studio West 4th.  The class is a  great chance to learn the basic swings of the kettlebell and truly feel  how effective this Russian weight is a&#8230;s  a tool for weight loss, increase muscle mass and to top all of that you  also raise your heart rate &#8211;  no more hours of pounding the treadmill.  The class will be 45mins in length with limited spaces &#8211; there are still  a few spaces left. This class is for all fitness levels, men and women  are welcome. The kettlebell doesn&#8217;t discriminate and will promise to  make you sweat, work muscles you have never worked before , especially  the glute muscle,  which gives us all that lift we have been looking  for. I myself started out working with a 16lb weight.  I am now swing a  36lb weight and haven&#8217;t bulked up. The kettlebell will give you nice lean  lines without the look of a body builder. Come and join Ber for a class  and have fun. </strong></h6>
